2、 The core braking principle inside the damping drum (two mainstream structures)
1. Planetary gear damping drum (commonly used in heavy-duty plate factories, stainless steel plate, rock plate)
The outer PU rubber of the drum contacts the board, and the workpiece slides down to drive the drum to rotate;
The drum is equipped with a small planetary gear set and viscous damping oil inside;
The rotation of gears agitates high viscosity damping oil, causing significant viscous resistance in the flow of the oil;
The greater the self weight, the greater the pressure on the drum and the faster the drum speed. The resistance of the gear stirring damping oil synchronously increases, achieving automatic weight balancing speed limit: light parts slide slowly, and heavy parts do not exceed the speed limit.
When the workpiece stops sliding, the gear comes to a standstill, the resistance disappears, and there is no additional jamming.
Advantages: Strong bearing capacity, stable resistance, high temperature resistance, suitable for heavy-duty cutting of stainless steel coils and large plates.
2. Friction type damping drum (light and small item sorting line)
A spring is installed inside the drum to press the friction plate, which generates frictional force and consumes kinetic energy when the drum rotates, limiting the speed;
The cost is lower, but it wears out quickly under heavy load and long-term metal friction, and is rarely used in sheet metal factories.
3、 The entire sliding groove is coordinated with the operation process
The chute is set with a tilt angle of 3 ° to 12 °. After the workpiece is placed on the drum, the gravitational force forms a downward thrust;
Ordinary unpowered rollers only provide support and resistance, and the workpiece will continue to accelerate;
Arrange one damping roller every 3-5 ordinary rollers to counteract the acceleration force in sections;
The kinetic energy is continuously consumed by damping oil/friction, and the workpiece maintains low-speed and uniform sliding throughout the entire process;
When reaching the end buffer baffle, the impact force is minimal, and with EPS corner protectors, it completely prevents edge damage and scratches.
