      Single layer sorting straight chute (also commonly known as straight chute, sorting chute, and material dropping chute) is the simplest gravity conveying component for logistics sorting. It has no motor or power, and relies on the weight of the material to slide down to complete reversing, diversion, and material dropping. It is commonly used for express sorting, e-commerce warehousing, and automated assembly line end diversion.
      The meaning of "single-layer": there is only one layer of sliding track, and there is no upper and lower double-layer staggered channel, which is different from double-layer intersecting sliding track.
2、 Core working principle
1. Tilt angle provides gravitational force component
      The chute panel is set with a fixed tilt angle (industry standard tilt angle: 22 °~35 °).
The material is placed on an inclined sliding surface, and gravity decomposes into two components:
      Vertical to the surface of the board: positive pressure, generating frictional force;
Downward along the slope: downward driving force.
      When the sliding force is greater than the sliding friction, the material continues to slide downwards by its own weight.
2. Linear slide constraint motion trajectory
      Set up barriers (guardrails) on both sides to limit the left and right deviation of goods, ensuring that the package slides along the predetermined straight track and directly slides towards the corresponding packaging cage and storage location.
3. Sorting switching logic (two mainstream forms)
      Form 1: Front end sorting mechanism+fixed straight chute (most common)
Balance wheel sorting, swing arm sorting, and steering wheel sorting machines are used as sorting execution units.
      The sorting equipment guides the package into the corresponding single-layer straight chute entrance; After entering the chute, the package slides straight down by gravity and reaches the target entrance.
      The chute itself does not have sorting and turning functions, only responsible for "receiving+conveying and dropping materials".
      Form 2: Inlet of the chute with pneumatic flap for diversion
      Multiple single-layer straight chutes are arranged in parallel, and the flipping plate is driven by a cylinder to swing towards different channels, achieving the selection of goods to enter a certain straight chute and slide down.
3、 Structural composition
      Sliding panel: galvanized steel plate, stainless steel plate, polymer wear-resistant plate (UHMWPE), reducing friction;
      Two side barriers: prevent goods from rushing out or tipping over;
      Supporting frame: steel structure bracket, fixed inclination angle;
      Entrance transition section: Smooth docking with upstream sorting machine to prevent package jamming;
      Export buffer section: Partial installation of buffer rubber and buffer baffle to reduce package impact damage.
4、 Key process conditions (practical points on site)
      The inclination angle cannot be too small: frictional force greater than the sliding force → cargo blockage and stagnation;
      The inclination angle should not be too large: if the sliding speed is too fast, the exit may collide violently, cause explosive components, or jump packages;
Friction coefficient of the board surface
      Stainless steel/polymer plate has low friction and smooth sliding; Rusted steel plates and rough surfaces are prone to jamming;
      Applicable goods: standard cardboard boxes, express soft bags, packages; Thin and lightweight items are prone to tipping over and getting stuck.
